First off tell us how you were “discovered” and how your modeling career all started?
I was first “discovered” on myspace by an amazing photographer till this day i still work with him, i then got offers from leading agencys in London but found D1Models was the 1 for me & I signed with them and shortly after i landed the job and become 1 of the faces of the new CK1 campaign!What has been your favorite shoot / campaign / work to date?
my favourite shoot to date would have to be…. when i shot for VOGUE HOMME JAPAN was so good! amazing clothes and i got to be naked to! ; ) ….. campaign by far has to be the CK1 shot by steven mesil was such an amazing week working with iconic models “lara stone” and such talented photographers!!! Your 5’7 which in “modeling” terms is considered rather short, I feel like you are breaking down the huge barriers for other people who may be under 6 feet and also have the dream of modeling. Did your height prove to be an obstacle when trying to introduce yourself in the professional modeling industry?
being a 5’7 model has not always been on my side….i got rejection like all the time getting “no no no to short” “you wont make it” “come back when your taller” i got this every single week! but i believed in myself so much and i had the support from my mum i just knew i could do it! and i was willing to do what it takes and i made them believe i AM the next thing! and over time it worked in my favour people realised i had something and had a personality which with my height worked!!! and i started getting booked on shoots!
How would you describe your personal style, Where do you pull your inspiration from?
my style is very basic “BLACK” all my wardrobe is pretty much black! i tend to wear oversized t-shirt with sayings on then some black skinny jeans and my dr martens and my classic snap back! when im feeling more fashion fashion i tend to throw in a-bit of colour e.g have a bright coloured pair of shoes, panda spirithood or have a shirt with only 1 button done up at the top! my inspiration comes from anywhere mainly the streets of london and images i see in magazines!
Do you have any hidden talents?
to be honest…i dont think i have any talents and if i do? im still searching!!!!Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what’s your favorite city that you have visited?
i tend to go NYC alot for work…NYC is such an amazing city i never thought in a million years i would end up going to NYC and i ended up going 7 times! ive also got to go paris such a beautiful city mind you i seen most of it from my taxi window but still looked great1 “BONJOUR”
Sometimes the modeling industry gets a bad rap with the jealousy and egos encountered between other models and agencies. Was this true for you? Have you managed to tough it out and make good friends?
with all the models i meet & work with i pretty much stay in contact with unless we dont get along which is really not likely!! also when i see mags with my mates or models ive worked with i always buy the mag to support them! my mag collections is nearly tocuhing the celling!
Do you ever get shy in front of the camera?
YES! especially when like 10 people are staring at you and your all alone in front of the lens eeee! Is modeling an easy job or more strenuous than people realize? (How so)
to be honest models do get it quite easy…but it isn’t all fun and games. alot of rejection, running all over the place and trying to be on time! also waiting ages sometimes up 4 months to get paid etc! and really when you think about it when we get booked me its like when a monkey told what to do when you think about it haha! Favorite movie?
by far has to be THE LITTLE MERMAID! Five things you can’t live without?
1. my black berry 2. my tempur matress bed 3. my twitter 4 macdonlds 5. all my black clothes
Was modeling something you always wanted to do, or did it just kinda happen?
this is going to sound very vain and cliche but ive always wanted to be a model! when i was in school all my mates where like ” i wana be a dr” “a vet” etc i was like i want to be a super model like kate moss in vogue! ha and now to think im doing it is crazy!!!
What’s your favorite band / music at the moment?
my favo singer at the min has to be my good friend RITA ORA with her brand new track HOT RIGHT NOW! also the new hot girl LANNA DEL REY her voice makes my hairs stand up!
Give us 5 facts about you people may not know.
1. i love the little mermaid 2. i have brand new puppy called frewella cookie 3.i have a tatttoo on my ass 4. i hate the cold 5. im a mummys boy! What’s the best and worst thing about being a model?
meeting such amazing and talanted people and all the free clothes! and the worst early call times at like 5am!!! YAWNN!
If you weren’t modeling what would you see yourself doing?
i would probley still be living at home with my mum still trying to think what to do with my lifeIf you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
chicken katsu curry from wagamamas its so nice!
Cats or dogs? Do you have any pets?
DOGS! i have a baby puppy chiwowo called Frewella Cookie and 2 fish called kate (katemoss) & frew haha
Any up coming plans for fashion week?
im going to alot of the fashion partys which is always fun! also ive been invited to go watch a load of shows! and fingers crossed ill be booked for 1 or 2 shoes to prove short models can do fashion week!!! DOING IT FOR THE SHORTIES!!!!! MUCH LOVE AARON FREW!!! X
