Grammy Trail # 4 Foo Fighters, ‘Wasting Light’

The Foo Fighter’s album Wasting Light was a chance for the band to explore different influences and reveal a slightly different side of their music. Despite the experiments, the album is still Foo Fighters all the way, with heartfelt lyrics and powerful guitar riffs.

Now as the album heads towards the ultimate industry test, with its Best Rock Album Grammy nomination, let’s follow the trail and see what we can learn about it, shall we?

Wasting Light was the band’s seventh studio album that included the single, “Rope”.

– “Rope” has a curious chord progression and sound that was influenced by the Led Zeppelin album Presence. Dave Grohl confessed that Presence, “may be my favorite album of theirs”.

– English rock band Led Zeppelin was inducted into the famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 along with Neil Young and Janis Joplin.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are among the most recent artists to be inducted into the museum and join the list of musicians honored in Cleveland, OH.

– Red Hot Chili Peppers’ album, I’m With You is up against Foo Fighters this year for Best Rock Album. AND, if Foo Fighters take it home they will tie the Red Hot Chili Peppers for Grammy wins – seven each.

Phew, we made it!
