Was Demi Lovato ‘Born’ With An Eating Disorder?

Demi Lovato has gone through a lot in the last couple of years: from battling her demons and going to rehab to getting out of rehab and continuing to live and inspire. The 19-year-old still struggles with her body image and tells UK’s The Daily Mail: “I think I was born with an eating disorder because I’ve never had a relationship with food that was normal.”

Whaaaat? Is that even possible?

“I started overeating when I was about eight; I was a binge eater,” Demi continued. “I would bake a whole plate of cookies and eat them all. Then when I turned 12 I was bullied in school and they called me fat. I went from being an overeater to stopping eating and I lost about 30lbs. From then on I continued undereating, but my weight plateaued.’

But luckily, she says, that she has the support of some great family and friends – and Demi wants to continue to inspire.

‘There’s no cure and I may mess up, but I want to be a better role model for my fans and my younger sister,” she said. “There are days when I look in the mirror and think, ‘God, my jeans don’t fit today – this sucks.’ But I’m in a much more spiritual place now. I can pray and I have a great support system around me.”

Go Demi! Sounds like she’s got a great head on her shoulders and there’s nowhere for her to go but up!
