Today Megaupload was closed without the need for SOPA. For some, it will be thought of as a win against piracy and others will fear losing their free music collections. However whichever side of the fence you sit on, here’s some good news – here are some legal musical free goodies.

Haven’t got your hands on Deaf Havana’s second album “Fools and Worthless Liars” yet? Well fear not because the Brit rockers are giving you a taster for free in the form of track “The World Or Nothing”. There are no geographic-restrictions for the download either so wherever you live in the world, whether their album’s been released there yet or not, you can get your virtual grubby little mitTs on it now.

Sleeper Agent

After being named Rolling Stone’s #2 new band of last year, RS continues in their support of the Kentucky-based band by offering up their song “Get Burned” which is described as “a tug-of-war tune about the ebb and flow of conflicts in a friendship” by vocalist Tony Smith. Sounds good, but it may sell better with one extra phrase – IT’S FREE.

Fun. Featuring Janelle Monae

Technically, Fun. and Janelle Monae’s offering is not an MPfreebie, however you can still download the duet’s long awaited music video for nothing…if you live in the US. If, like me, you are bound my copyright laws so can not download it (and NO, you can not just go to Megaupload) you’ll have to make do with watching it below.
