Real Life Style Inspiration: Whitney Moore

For this week’s Style Inspiration, I’d like to spotlight one of my great friends, Whitney Moore. She is an actress, journalist, lover of comic books (she is actually co-writing one that’ll be out this year), self-proclaimed part time traumtänzerin, ukulele player and black belt in Tai Kwon Do. You may find her nerding out at Comic-Con, playing video games or featured as the lead in cult classic horror film, Birdemic: Shock and Terror (a must-see) – it’s a horror movie that inspired a cult following among midnight movie theaters internationally. Since then, she has had the pleasure of working on two additional features: Adam Wingard’s A Horrible Way to Die, and Billy Garberina’s Rotgut. She is super talented and on her way to an exciting career…but most importantly (and what we all came here for) she’s got AMAZING style!

Whitney appreciates the strange, sad, and humorous sides of life…and that is definitely apparent in her choices of fashion. She describes her personal style as being a little bit classic with a mix of heavy metal (what a genius combo)! Her favorite clothing stores (on and off-line) are Zara, Goodwill, American Rag, TopShop and Karmaloop. Her favorite designers are Prada, Free People and French Connection, but she still feels too young to wear designer clothes! Her favorite color is Kelly green, favorite book is A Confederacy of Dunces, and favorite cartoon is Rocko’s Modern Life (she calls it a HOOT)! She is mostly inspired by being around ambitious people…oh, and Meryl Streep movies.

And did I mention that she was featured in my band, The Ruckus’, two previous music videos (caught lip-locking in Deal With You and as a roller skating diva in The Thrill)? Needless to say, she was pretty much the highlight! Check out the videos below and make sure to view Whitney’s super cool fashion in the photo gallery!
