Gerard Way, Andy Biersack Contributing To Metallica Art Show

Los Angeles Art gallery Exhibita is opening OBEY YOUR MASTER – A VISUAL SALUTE TO METALLICA on January 23rd of this month, and among the artists participating are My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack.

Fansite MyChemicalFreak got their hands on the full promotional poster for opening night on 1/20:

BVB’s metal man called Metallica “the quintessential Heavy Metal band. Equal parts darkness, intellect and vitriol”.

“Having been a fan of Metallica for years, their music has always inspired my artistic expression in various mediums. So, when I was asked to be one of the artists to create an art piece inspired by one of their songs for the upcoming Obey Your Master art show, it was a no brainer” commented Gerard, who is known for his Umbrella Academy Comic and overall artistry.

The pieces, based on the artists interpersonal relationship to Metallica’s lyrics and music will be revealed on January 20th, 2012 at Exhibit A Gallery to a private reception, with all of the artists and Metallica in attendance. The pieces will be available for purchase starting that evening, through March 23, 2012.

Anyone going to visit this exhibit while it’s there? If you we’re going to create fan art for Metallica, what song would you choose to base it on?
