Chanel Pre-Fall 2012: The Paris-Mumbai Collection

Uncle Karl can do no wrong in my eyes, so if he wants to put models with fake dredlocks and sari-inspired gowns and white leather flat thigh high boots on the runway, then more power to him. And that’s just what Mr. Lagerfeld did, for Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection, aptly titled “Paris-Mumbai”. The collection, which was shown Dec 6th in Paris, blends classic Chanel motifs (tweed suits, pearls, cap-toe boots) with “Indian inspired” elements like jeweled headpieces, metallic sandals, and sheer, drapey fabrics, for a result that is totally unique and as always, totally Chanel.
