Why Is Jennifer Lawrence Being Led Away in the New Hunger Games Still?

With the release of Twilight last week, the next highly anticipated upcoming movie to wait for is the critically acclaimed Hunger Games. With several photo leaks and a teaser trailers already out, it seems that many people are eagerly awaiting the release of the movie. Fear not, Hunger Games fans: Lionsgate just released a new still from the movie!

In the newly released photo, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is being escorted away by the Peacekeepers, a group of men and women trained by the Capitol to keep the order. Jennifer, who recently posed with her fellow Hunger Games cast members for Vanity Fair, dished to the magazine about her character:

“Katniss is an incredible character: she’s a hunter but not a killer, a 16-year-old who’s being forced into the arena. These kids are killing one another only because if they don’t they’ll die. It’s needless, pointless, unjustified violence. It’s heartbreaking,” Jennifer spills. “But it’s not like she looks around the arena and goes, ‘Yeah, I got this.’ I think she looks around helplessly, and thinks, ‘I made a promise to my sister that I would survive; now I have to kill in order to do so.'”
