Michael Jackson’s Death Bed Isn’t The Only Offensive Auction Lot

Somebody alert the Twitter world because whilst the world erupts in outrage because “Michael Jackson’s Death Bed” is up for sale, people seem to not have noticed an equally disturbing auction lot.

The items which are listed in the “100 North Carolwood Drive Auction” catalogue largely features inoffensive items such as art, furnishings and antiques but there is one lot of particular bad taste.

That lot of particular bad taste? A chalk board. Huffington Post reported that included in the sale is a chalk board with a note from one of his children still remaining. So whilst we can rationalise the sale of the bed because it’s listed purely as a luxury piece of furniture with no mention of the man who layed (and died) in it, how can you explain an auctioneer’s decision to not erase “I (heart) Daddy. SMILE, it’s for free”? They say that it’s sold “as is” but how can they argue that their decision not to clean it had nothing to do with the fact the “Daddy” is Michael Jackson. Paraphernalia has really gone too far.

If you want to view the contents of the sale yourself to either gawp at or groan at, you can because the contents of the auction will be on display at Julien’s Auctions, Beverly Hills between Dec. 12 – 17. As for the Jackson family’s thoughts, an attorney for Michael’s mother Katherine has said “the family is aware of the auction, and is trying to make sure Michael’s name and likeness are not being used to enhance the value of the items”. Well I guess the family haven’t got their wishes then.

What do you think?
