What Happened in the 8 Years Before ‘Dark Knight Rises’?

Can’t wait till next year’s new Batman flick? Neither can we! Luckily Empire Magazine has got us covered, featuring the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises as its cover story for the December 2011 issue.

In the new issue, director Christopher Nolan dishes to the magazine on the flick, revealing that while The Dark Knight picks up right where Batman Begins left off, The Dark Knight Rises skips ahead 8 years.

“It’s really all about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne’s story. We left him in a very precarious place. Perhaps surprisingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after The Dark Knight. So he’s an older Bruce Wayne; he’s not in a great state,” Christopher explains.

Interesting… wonder what happened in that 8 year span! Any clue?
