Cartoon Fashion Craze: Daniel Palillo S/S 2011

Here are some of my favorite looks from Finish designer Daniel Palillo’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection called Never Mind. The whole line is wonderfully creepy, inspired by Palillo’s time spent in America. It draws from the anarchy of the designer’s teenage music heroes, while painting a portrait of his everyday lived experiences: Saturday evening soccer matches, Sunday morning cartoons, etc. I’m in love with his quirky whimsical aesthetic, where enormous proportions meet three-dimensional structures and morbid graphics. Totally “cartoon chic.” I also like the fresh look of the collection — with a sort of streetwear vibe. For more information and images, check out the designer’s official blog.
