Tyler Shields Shoot with Glee’s Heather Morris: Promoting Domestic Violence?

She plays the ditzy cheerleader Brittany on the hit FOX show Glee, but in a new photo shoot with famed photographer Tyler Shields, Heather Morris is anything but okay. Sporting a black eye with her hands tied with an iron cord, Heather’s new shoot (which can be viewed on the photographer’s site tylershields.com) has been deemed controversial – and media outlets have condemned Tyler for making light of abusive treatment of women reports The Huffington Post.

“I don’t know if Tyler is aware but I’m quite sure there are plenty of women who have been abused by these kinds of household appliances and children as well being hit with electrical cords,” Rita Smith, executive director for the Denver-based National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, told E! News.

Tyler feels that he did nothing wrong. He told E!, defending his work: “In no way were we promoting domestic violence. We wanted to do a bruised-up Barbie shoot and that’s exactly what we did!”

He explains the shoot further, telling The Daily Mail happily, “No photoshop no tricks, all Heather. I was tied up, she was tied up, everybody got in the game. She even put the hot iron on my assistant Jordon’s face. He is okay!”
