Katniss Can Sing? Jennifer Lawrence Featured on ‘Hunger Games’ Soundtrack

Jennifer Lawrence: actress, major butt-kicker… singer? As reported earlier, it was rumored that Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence (who will play Katniss Everdeen) would be lending her vocals to the movie’s soundtrack… and the rumors have been proven true! Producer T-Bone Burnett confirmed to MTV News that Jennifer has indeed recorded a track for the film’s soundtrack.

When asked if Jennifer recorded anything in the studio, T-Bone said:

“Yeah, we did. And it was beautiful. She did great. She’s singing great. Killer actor too.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jennifer recorded “Rue’s Lullaby,” a song that Katniss sings to a fellow Hunger Games contestant after a tragic plot turn.

Producer T-Bone is co-creating the music with Grammy winner Danny Elfman. While he hasn’t revealed when the world would get to hear the debut of Jennifer’s song, T-Bone noted that it would be released “soon.”
