If actress Lucille Ball were alive today, the world famous comedienne would be celebrating her 100th birthday today. Unfortunately though Lucille died in 1989 at the age of 77. Her legacy however will definitely live on forever.

1. She had it all! Striking beauty, a top notch sense of humor, and brains!

3. She was the first woman to ever run a major television studio: Desilu.
4. Lucy was not afraid to show sex appeal. Maybe it’s the redheads that have more fun!
5. It may have been a “man’s world” in Lucy’s day, but not in her life. She had a presence and perserverence that pretty much screamed “Girl Power!”
6. When Lucy became pregnant with her first child with Desi Arnaz, she made the producers of I Love Lucy write it into the show – back when pregnant women were not shown on television in their “expectant conditions”.
7. She wasn’t afraid to be dubbed “The Queen of B Movies” at the begining of her career. No guts, no glory!
8. The fact alone that she had a baby made the cover of the very first issue of TV Guide!Now that’s star power!
9. Lucy proved that a woman could be sexy, smart, witty, tough, and powerful – all at the same time.
