10 Best Musical Performances in Teen Choice Awards History

What’s an awards show without epic musical performances – whether they are epic in a bad way or epic in a good way! The Teen Choice Awards are no exception to epic musical performances. After all, who can forget Miley Cyrus‘ pole dancing scandal, Gwen Stefani looking like a pink-haired bride, and the days when Britney Spears was the ulitmate dancing queen? With Jason Derulo, Selena Gomez and the Scene and OneRepublic set to perform at this year’s show, there is without a doubt more epic musical moments to come.

Here are the 10 best musical performances in the history of the Teen Choice Awards:

Britney Spears “Sometimes/Crazy” (1999)

Britney Spears’ golden era and the debut of the TCAs saw Britney perform what is now known as her “old school” hits. Don’t you miss these days?

Blink 182 “What’s My Age Again” (1999)

Classic Blink-182! Totally appropriate song choice for the awards show.

No Doubt “Simple Kind of Life” (2000)

So ‘simple’ from the best band ever (No Doubt!), yet sooooo good!

Yellowcard “Ocean Avenue” (2004)

Breaking out onto the scene not long before this performance, Yellowcard‘s “Ocean Avenue” was the perfect summer song for the summer time awards show.

Gwen Stefani “Hollaback Girl” (2005)

A full marching band marching through the aisles to start off the performance and Ms. Stefani herself also singing through the aisles makes for one pretty rad performance. Great way to kick off the 2005 awards show!

Simple Plan “Untitled” (2005)

Canadian rockers Simple Plan performed their arguably most emotional song on the awards AND won the Choice Rock Group award that year. Pretty sweet!

Chris Brown TCA Performance (2008)

Chris Brown defied gravity in his performance with the America’s Best Dance Crew winners the Jabbawockeez.

Miley Cyrus “Party in the USA” (2009)

Compared to her other “scandalous” antics, Miley’s infamous “pole dancing” on an ice cream truck, singing “Party in the USA” is child’s play. I mean, that’s it?!

Jonas Brothers “Much Better” (2009)

OMG! Look at Joe Jonas‘ hair! The brothers Jonas definitely wow-ed the crowd with their slick performance.

And for good measure and lots’o laughs:

Kevin Federline’s World Premiere of “Lose Control” (2006)

WHY BRITNEY? WHYYYYYY??
