Comic Con Day 1: Celebrities, Nerds, Hot People, and Gamers Storm San Diego

The first day of Comic Con 2011 kicked off with the same injection of Hollywood dazzle as last year. Celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Hugh Jackman, Carey Mulligan, Pee-Wee Herman and of course… the cast of Twilight descended the convention from their diamond-studded chariots-in-the-sky (Escalades and Town Cars?) to the grounds to speak on panels for die-hard fans and media battalions. Fans were camped out as early as Monday morning to catch a glimpses of the Twilight cast, who didn’t arrive until yesterday. Apparently the panel was worth it, as R-Pattz revealed that the birthing scene in the upcoming Breaking Dawn is graphic. Who else can’t wait to see Kristen Stewart’s birthing face!?

But the kids weren’t the only crowd to be privy the thrilling inside scoops that Comic Con provides. Apparently “Star Wars” fans of all generations got to preview deleted scenes from the entire 7-part movie series as part of a DVD release coming this fall, and Microsoft unveiled a new Xbox 360 edition that comes with a camera and a GOLD controller. Gold. Talk about a cool sneak peek.

We are looking forward to the True Blood panel, and have our very own El Rich on the grounds waiting to get into the panel. Wish him luck, people! We’ll be reporting the sights, scene, toys, cosplay, comics, geek life, celebrities and highlights from Comic Con, so check back all weekend and follow us on Twitter for updates, photo galleries, gossip, and Twitpics of any celebrities we can find!
