Lea Michele and Chris Colfer Headed to the Big Apple for a ‘Glee’ Spinoff?

When you first heard that Lea Michele and Chris Colfer were leaving the hit TV show Glee, one couldn’t help but wonder if the reason of their departure was because Lea’s supposed “diva” ways got the best of her or because Chris was getting WAY better offers. But alas, that is not the case! As previously reported, it was made known that Glee stars Lea Michele and Chris Colfer were graduating from the series once their characters Rachel and Kurt graduated high school at the end of the third season. Upon hearing this, Glee fans everywhere were none too pleased with the news.

But fear not Rachel and Kurt fans! Word on the street is that the duo will star in a spinoff show that will take place in New York. This storyline is not unfathomable, as on the season finale, Rachel and Kurt snuck onto the stage of Wicked and lived out their dreams, singing a song from the Broadway musical. The characters decided that, after graduation, they would move to the city.

While Glee creator Ryan Murphy didn’t announce the news himself, his interview with The Hollywood Reporter all but said it.

“I’m much more interested in Lea’s character — not so much on her relationship with Finn, but more on what her dreams are beyond high school and how she plans on getting them,” Ryan said.

Speaking of Finn, Lea and Chris aren’t the only ones leaving at the end of the third season: Cory Monteith is also graduating. No word on what his plans are come finale.
