Jeffrey Tambor Confirms the ‘Arrested Development’ Movie is Happening

Since the untimely cancellation of Fox’s hilarious series Arrested Development, fans have wondered if we would see the misadventures of the Bluth family continued in some other way. Rumors of a movie have long persisted, along with rumors that certain actors were refusing to sign on (Michael Cera, I’m looking at you) and that the whole thing was so derailed it was like anything involving the Bluths: a disaster.

But now, Jeffrey Tambor, who played George Michael Bluth Sr. and Oscar Bluth on the series, has confirmed it. The Arrested Development movie WILL be made.

His exact words? “No, it’s all going straight, everyone’s on board, I know they’re writing, and maybe next time this year we’ll be having this conversation.”

Everyone is on board! Including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Will Arnett, Portia Di Rossi, David Cross, Tony Hale and Jessica Walter! Bluth Family Reunion!

Granted, if you’re still feeling the withdrawal, there’s always the option of rewatching it (I know it’s streaming on Netflix). Or, if you’re really Jonesing for some Bluthing, check out the animated series Archer, which stars Jessica Walter playing Lucille Bluth if she were running a spy agency. Jeffrey Tambor also lends his voice in some episodes. You can also download and play this handy Arrested Development version of Clue, if you’re so inclined.

But, anyway, how excited are you guys about the Arrested Development movie? Are you back in the cutoffs out of excitement? Are you, like me, hoping this is not a trick.

Oh, sorry. Not a trick. An ILLUSION.
