American Idols Live! Takes Over Nokia Theater LA

The annual American Idols Live! Tour hit up Los Angeles on Friday night in it’s 10th year running. The sold out concert brought in quite a diverse crowd as the tour returned to the location where this year’s finale was filmed. Winner of AI10 Scotty McCreery, along with the rest of the top 11, put on an incredible show with all of the performers truly at their best (despite Lauren Alaina’s leg injury).

The concert was split into two halves; the first was mostly allotted to those who were voted off the show earliest, while the second half focused on Scotty and the rest of the top 5. Recently signed by Interscope, Pia Toscano dominated the first half of the performance, with outstanding renditions of “Empire State Of Mind” and “California King Bed,” as part of a duet with Stefano Langone. Later, Pia performed her single “This Time” and there was no doubt that she was voted off the show far too early for someone with such vocal talent. Prior to intermission, Naima danced her way through a cover of JLo‘s “On The Floor,” Stefano broke out of his shell and showed off his abs during “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” and Casey Abrams brought out his bass, much to the crowd’s approval.

The second half of Idols Live! had the concert-goers anxiously awaiting the yet to be seen Scotty. But first runner up Lauren Alaina took the stage, pleasing her many young fans in attendance. She sweetly reminisce about the finale and after a country filled set, performed a touching rendition of her single “Like My Mother Does.” James Durbin took the stage next, as wild as ever, making his entrance by first walking through the audience. James performed “Sweet Child of Mine” and left me wondering…how does he have that much energy every show?! Hayley Reinhart had an eclectic set that featured a switched up version of “Betty and the Jetts” that got the audience on their feet. The crowd went wild when winner Scotty hit the stage, and automatically began singing his go-to song “Your Man” by Josh Turner. He also sang single “I Love You This Big” and a duet with Lauren.

The night ended with all the idols returning to the stage performing a medley of songs and each taking their individual bows. Looks like this season of idols has a lot of potential and are all performers to keep an eye on!
