TWLOHA Bring Us ‘The Story of Denny Kolsch

We’ve been spending a lot of time with our friends at the charity To Write Love On Her Arms. Most recently we partnered with them on a contest where you guys got to design an official t-shirt for the 2011 Warped Tour and the winner’s shirt will now be produced and sold at merch booths at tour locations all summer long. We’ve also brought you news about the upcoming movie based the story of Renee Yohe (who is the inspiration for TWLOHA), starring Travie McCoy and Kat Dennings.

But aside from music tours, contests and Hollywood movies there’s also a more important message and mission that TWLOHA brings, and that is to present hope and find help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.

Check out the moving video below of TWLOHA staffer Denny Kolsch who’s been on an incredible journey to recovery and healing.

What do you think of Denny’s story? Were you surprised that someone from a loving and supportive family could fall prey to such depression, anxiety and ultimately addiction?
