My Parents

My mom and dad live 3,000 miles away from me in the tiny state of Rhode Island. Living in LA, it can be difficult to call them but because of the time difference — but it has never seemed like they were ever really that far from me.

Well, now they are in Europe and the time zone change is very drastic — and let me tell you I have had an emotionally crazy week. I have been thrown some zingers. Would have really loved to hear their voices and thought out advice.

Luckily, I think I handled things well and because I could not reach them, I saw how amazing of a support system I have here. (Seriously I have found some insanely devoted friendships here.) I also saw how much stronger and assertive I have become.

But still it is Sunday when we usually have a phone chat or Skype, and I miss them.

Crazy how you start to miss someone the moment you realize you cannot talk to them. I keep wondering how amazing London and Paris will be. The look on their faces when then see the Eiffel Tower and how enthralled my dad will be when they step inside the Louvre.

Really wish I could have tagged along.

Anyway, I miss them a lot and hope they are having an amazing trip. I will have a lot to catch them up on when they get home and I am sure they will have lots to share with me as well.

Hope you all get a chance to tell your family how much you love them today.
