Stanley Tucci Snagged For Role in ‘The Hunger Games’

Even the most wary of Hunger Games fans can’t object this casting move! Entertainment Weekly reports that Lionsgate has announced that Stanley Tucci is the latest addition to the Hunger Games cast.

The actor, who will be seen next in Captain America, will be playing the smooth-talking interviewer Caesar Flickerman. In the Suzanne Collins novel, the iconic host Caesar is described as having an “outrageous appearance and buoyant personality.” The TV personality interviews each of the 24 young competitors in The Hunger Games before they go off to battle to the death.

Stanley Tucci, along with Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz, had been rumored for a role for a few weeks now, but so far Stanley is the only one confirmed.

The Hunger Games goes into production this month and hits theaters March 23, 2012 – a little less than a year!

Are you stoked or unimpressed with Stanley Tucci being cast for the movie?
