Glee Is Coming To A Theater Near You!

Want to see the New Directions on the big screen? You soon can!

20th Century Fox just announced that it will release Glee Live! 3D! a feature film made from the footage that will be shot during this summer’s upcoming ‘Glee Live! In Concert!’ tour. The 3D musical extravaganza will enjoy a two-week theatrical run this summer, beginning August 12th.

According to a statement from Glee creator Ryan Murphy, the film will provide Gleeks who didn’t get the chance to snag tickets to this summer’s tour a firsthand experience of all the madness.

“There were only so many cities we could get to,” Ryan said. “We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate Gleek a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”

The statement also says, “The movie will capture the unique concert experience along with special moments involving the characters themselves.”

Last year’s first-ever tour was a huge success. This upcoming summer tour will feature all of the show’s main cast members (including newbies Chord Overstreet, Ashley Fink and the ever-adorable Darren Criss), who will be singing songs from season 2, including “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Teenage Dream” and Glee original songs “Get It Right” and “Loser Like Me.”

Darren Criss and Corey Monteith on a big screen? Don’t mind if we do!
