DC Comics To Reboot Over 50 Titles This Fall

Ever wanted to get into comic books, but intimidated by the sheer amount of mythology? Or felt they were just so DISCONNECTED from the world today?

Well, now DC comics is making it easier for you, because on August 31st they will release Justice League #1 the first of a huge series of rebooted titles. Then, in September, 50 other titles will relaunch with issue #1, as well as redesigned costumes and more modern and relateable storylines.

DC’s Dan Didio says “This was a chance to start, not at the beginning, but at a point where our characters are younger and the stories are being told for today’s audience.” It probably doesn’t also hurt that they’re looking to cash in on at least the film franchises for Green Lantern, Batman and Superman.

But what’s that, you say? You don’t have a local comic shop? Or you’d rather wait and buy full collections than individual issues? No problem, because FOR THE FIRST TIME IN COMIC HISTORY, DC will be making digital issues of the comics available via apps AND a website, meaning you can get your hands on all of them digitally.

On one hand, I’m really glad to see DC doing this to make it easier for fans to get into the classic characters.

On the other hand: ARE WE REALLY STILL DOING THE BUSTIER AND LEGGINGS WONDER WOMAN COSTUME? REALLY?
