Adrianne Palicki Named New Wonder Woman

Step aside Lynda Carter – there’s a new Wonder Woman in town!

Former Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki has been chosen to fill Carter’s shoes as the iconic comic book superhero Wonder Woman in a new TV series for NBC.

After the casting was publicly announced, Lynda Carter tweeted her congratulations to the new Wonder Woman. No hard feelings there – looks like Carter is passing on the torch to Adrianne!

Don’t know who she is? (It’s okay… most people don’t either!) Aside from the now-defunct Friday Night Lights TV series, Adrianne has also appeared in Fox’s canceled drama Lone Star and the WB’s Supernatural. And playing Wonder Woman won’t be Adrianne’s first brush with a superhero: In 2004, she rubbed elbows with Clark Kent in a single episode of Smallville!

This will be Wonder Woman’s second incarnation on the small screen; Lynda Carter previously played the role from 1976 to 1979.

Do you think Adrianne was the right choice for the role? Will she be able to fill Lynda Carter’s shoes – or do you think the torch should have been passed on to someone else?
