Karl Is Not Amused.

We all know Mr. Lagerfeld is an eccentric man, what with his views on paying (egregiously high) retail for clothing, stick-thin models, and extreme diets. He believes people that want to buy Chanel clothes on sale should shop at a separate store than those who are able to pay full price, so the rich don’t have to mingle with the “poor.” He dropped more than 80 pounds on his “questionable” diet, and claims to hate the smell of food: “Some people love it, but I don’t care for it. I don’t eat sweet things. I don’t eat greasy things…I hate meat,” he said in an interview with Jezebel.

Other stuff Karl hates:

-Children: “I hate all children.”

-Normal sized people: “In France there are a large percentage of young girls who are overweight and less than one percent are skinny. So let’s talk about the 25 percent who have a weight problem, or are overweight…It’s an unnecessary subject. Let’s talk about the fat ones.”

“These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly…no one wants to see round women.” (Interview with Focus magazine.)

-Airlines: “I cannot go on airlines because people stare at me, you have to be touched by people. I hate that…”

-Diane Von Furstenberg: “If she were an expert, perhaps her designs may be more impressive…”

Hmm.

I respect him as a designer, but as a person, not so much.

What do you think?
