Livebloggy goodness (and other such things)

I promised this post yesterday but I was enjoying the beautiful weather here in the East Bay and I…uh…forgot? SOMETHING LIKE THAT. Anyway, we’re moving into a really interesting period for this project. The main focus of it is ending after I finish Deathly Hallows, which is a scary and sad thought to me. I can’t believe there was a moment in my life where I hadn’t read one of these books. Don’t get me wrong; I’m happy to have read the series precisely the way I’ve done. I don’t know if I would have enjoyed it in this manner if I hadn’t decided to read this chapter-by-chapter and review it like this.

That’s a long way of saying, HOW DID I NOT READ THIS SERIES WHEN I WAS YOUNGER.

This last book is going to be a special thing for me and I hope it is for you. I’m coming to the end of this adventure and while that does get me down, I’m so excited to see how it all comes together. I’m excited to go to my first midnight showing of a Harry Potter film. I’m excited to do an accelerated re-read of the series so we can TALK ABOUT SPOILERS WITHOUT INSPIRING MY HULK-LIKE MANRAEG. I’m only mildly interested in fanfic, but I promise to delve into it with an open mind, an open heart, and lots of GIFS. I haven’t used GIFS much, have I? Those should come back. I’ve been saving some gems.

Oh, and right before DH comes out, would you guys be interested in doing a day where we watch movies one through six straight through? EVERYONE LIKES COUCH POTATO MARATHONS RIGHT????

Ok, ok, there are a lot of ideas here. Let’s get to the two big announcements today.

1) We will do the liveblog for Half-Blood Prince the day after finishing Deathly Hallows.

I’ve been going back and forth on this, but ultimately decided it’s probably for the best that I wait. Quite a few people expressed reservation when I started HBP that the movie version would spoil me for book seven. Apparently, there are clues written into the screenplay that foreshadow where the story heads.

Whether they are there are not is sort of irrelevant at this point. I’ll be looking for them only because the thought has been put into my head. And I’ll notice information in the movie that isn’t in the book. So in the interest in reading Deathly Hallows completely spoiler-free (WHICH IS BEAUTIFUL, BECAUSE I HAVE NOT HAD ONE SECOND SPOILED YET), I think we should wait.

Sound good? It just means we can have a party after I’m done. YAY PARTIES!

2) 3,000,000

It hasn’t even been a month since the last milestone and we hit three million pageviews around here. WHAT. So big thanks, again, to hp_commonroom, cleolinda, MuggleNet, The Daily Wh.at, the Tumblr communities, FromThisGirl, that Facebook page I AM DYING TO READ, and you.

YES, YOU. I AM ACTUALLY POINTING AT THE SCREEN. Thanks for reading me, thanks for the amazing comments, and thanks for caring. Even though I’ll be done this series soon, we have a long and wild ride ahead of us. I have some…uh…announcements I’ll be making in the future. They are exciting. And new. And wonderful. And I hope you’ll come along with me.

Ok, OFF TO WRITE MY SUPER SRS BSNS PREDICTION POST. Good day!
