Warped Tour Pomona: The Home Stretch

First of all, let me just say that it’s impossible to see all the bands you want to see by going to ONE day of Warped! I was literally RUNNING around from noon ’til 8pm and I still missed SEVERAL performances. But it was SO MUCH FUN! Here are some highlights…

As you probably have gathered by now, Fake Problems is my new favorite band. I happened upon them by reading a press release and LOVING the single that was streaming (“Soulless” if you want to check it out yourself). Well, DOUBLE WOW because the boys in this band are also ATTRACTIVE. Like, f’real:

Juliet Simms from Automatic Loveletter gets my vote for most stylish performer. Girl can layer like nobody’s business.

Bring Me The Horizon had the biggest crowd and was CLEARLY the most photogenic:

In between bands we stopped at the Truth truck, where Emily and Ashley played a game that got them some sweet silver duffel bags. It was a pretty cool all day thing they had going on there–a DJ, games and some tied in education about the dangers of tobacco. The truth riders are a lively bunch.

I only got to catch a couple Andrew WK songs… all I have to say is that if he wrote a motivational book, I’d buy it. Three copies, even.

I stopped by Jac Vanek’s booth since I hadn’t seen her, Kelly and Nicole since the end of the Boozle Roadshow.

Hmm, what else?

Mayday Parade‘s stage felt too small for them–they played an incredible set, but their energy just spill-eth over. Know what I mean? Brooks Betts’ hair did the most performing of all. T-Mom and her band The Pretty Reckless were pretty impressive, but she still has to work on her stage presence. Anarbor was the band I was most looking forward to seeing, and their set convinced me I’m gonna have to snatch up their older albums. Versaemerge is FAR better live than they are recorded. I get how they’re continually compared to Paramore, but live they’re able to set themselves apart. I watched The Summer Set was I unusually perturbed by Brian Dales’ under-chin facial hair. I’m slowly getting into You Me @ Six

What band did you discover this year at Warped Tour? Who played the best set, in your opinion?
