Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump Collaborate on ‘Fall Out Toy Works’ Motion Comic

For those of you who have been waiting to see another project uniting Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump, you’re in luck. Because the two of them are going to be providing voices for a motion comic of Fall Out Toy Works, the comic “inspired by” their music. While not actually written or drawn by a band member, Wentz was on the creative team.

But wait. Wait, you ask. Does this mean we’re getting a Fall Out Toy Works MOVIE? No. No, it does not. This is NOT a FOTW movie. A motion comic is basically taking the still images from the original comic, adding in voice over narration instead of speech and thought bubbles and occasionally animating character movement. If you want an actual example, Marvel has the first chapter of Astonishing X-men‘s “Gifted” story arc, written by Joss Whedon, up on YouTube.

This motion comic will feature Stump in the lead role of The Toymaker, Wentz will play the part of “Cry Baby,” an overly emotional toy who constantly wears a bear suit. They will be joined by actresses Anna Faris, who will play the female lead, the robot girl Tiffany, and Jaime King, who will provide the voice of Gravity Wells.

Want a preview? This teaser was posted last year, but it’s still on the official Fall Out Boys YouTube, so I’m guessing it’s legit!

The motion comic will release on October 19th.

What do you think? Fan of the comics? Just happy to see Pete and Patrick working on something together again?
