The TomTom GPS – Now Guiding You With “The Force”

If you don’t know what the TomTom GPS is, let me explain what this magical device is in layman’s terms. It is a navigation system which gives you turn by turn driving directions while you are on the go. Nothing new, right? Well, it speaks. The voice in which it talks to you is slightly creepy, un-nerving, and comes with the desired accent of your choice. Imagine, if you will, a person’s soul, enslaved by some high practitioner of Voodoo. This soul is then placed inside a magic box which summons the knowledge of your whereabouts via a collective consciousness stored in torpor.

Now, the TomTom powers that be have done something, which to me, is actually pretty neat. They are giving you the option to have some of your favorite voices from Star Wars guide you and your Millenium Falcon throughout the known galaxy. That’s actually not true. However, when you are on hour 34 of your World of Warcraft playing spree and you need some 99 cent taquitos from 7-11, you can have Yoda guide you on your merry way.

The folks at TomTom have come up with these videos that make me lol in my heart: Darth Vader GPS recording session @ Yahoo! Video

I can’t wait until they come out with a TaunTaun voice for the TomTom. That would awesome for days when its all blizzard like outside and I have dreams of Hoth. Maybe I can soon live out my childhood dream of having R2D2 as navigator in my X Wing (if by R2D2 I mean TomTom and by X wing I mean Ford Pinto).
