Ronnie Radke’s New Band Releases “Listen Up”

Did you think a little thing like incarceration was going to stop ex-Escape The Fate frontman Ronnie Radke from making music? If you did, you were wrong.

Radke’s new band, aptly named From Behind These Walls, have released their first single on iTunes.

“Listen Up” is on the band’s MySpace for your listening pleasure.

I have a theory as to what’s behind those walls: Puppies and sunshine and optimism. Oh sure, the lyrics are all motivational only in the “I’ll show you” sort of way, but this could easily be pop-punk’s version of Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.”

WTF is going on in there? I’m not saying I don’t like it, because I actually do in that guilty “Yes I once purchased a Mest CD” kind of way. But the snarl, the ‘tude eminated from ETF’s Dying Is Your Latest Fashion is but a mere memory in my iTunes.

Granted, this is only one song, but it comes off as a little unexpected given the… I don’t know, imagery? I thought he was coming back “with a vengeance”? Is homeboy on anti-depressants and toting a life coach? Not that that there’s anything wrong with that…

What do you think? I’m curious to hear lots of perspectives on this.

Buzznet member xxladyofsorrows59xx has posted the current line up for FBTW if you’re interested. Back in January, they were using the new band’s MySpace to urge fans to write the parole board.
