Check Out the My Chemical Romance Cover of “Desolation Row”

After months of waiting, rumors and baited breath, it’s finally here: My Chemical Romance has released their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row.”

You know how it goes, guys: The Black Parade ISN’T DEAD until I get new pictures.

The song, which was recorded exclusively for the upcoming film Watchmen, is the first time the band has recorded together since The Black Parade. In a post to My Chemical Romance’s website, Gerard Way mentions “when the chance came to do a cover of one of my favorite artists, Bob Dylan, for a film version of my favorite work of fiction of all time we had to jump at the chance.” He goes more into detail of why they chose that particular song as well as the band’s writing process in the blog, which you can read here.

The song can be purchased from iTunes as a single, but if you just want to listen for now, have no fear. The song can be heard via XFM’s website!

Also, guitarist Ray Toro did a solo interview during which he mentioned that yes, the band IS getting together NEXT MONTH to work on their long-awaited new album! You might have to look around a little to find that interview, but I’m sure at least one or two people or places will have anticipated your needs for all things MCR.

Go! Listen! Then return and tell me what you think! Or if you already have listened, you should STILL tell me what you think!
