Chasing Shadows……Chapter Twenty-Nine
“Whoa, what was that for?” Gabrielle mutters to Jared after a few minutes of silence.
“Um, I donno really, just wanted to do it” Jared says now looking at the ground.
“Are you upset?” he then asks.
“No! Just, a little shocked. It was nice though” Gabrielle says not wanting to hurt his feelings.
“Oh, good then” Jared says smiling a little now.
“Uh, we should head back” Gabrielle then says.
“Oh, yeah right” Jared says now taking Gabrielle’s hand.
Then the two walk back to the nightclub.
About an half hour later they all leave.
Would have stayed a little longer.
But the assholes behind them were really getting on Emily’s nerves and she was two seconds from punching one of their faces in.
“Um, lets leave before your sweetie goes up from murder charges” Tomo says to Shannon.
“Good idea” Shannon says now taking Emily’s hand and then speeding to the door.
Soon everyone else files out and then they all go to the parking lot.
What’s up with you?” Emily asks Gabrielle as they walk.
“Um, nothing. Just a little tired” Gabrielle says shaking her head.
But Emily knows there’s something up.
Ever since Gab and Jared got back from their walk, she hasn’t been acting right.
About an half hour later the guys pull up to the girls apartment.
“So did you girls have fun?” Shannon asks Gabrielle and Emily.
“Yeah, besides the assholes, a blast!” Emily says.
“It was nice” Gabrielle says.
“Nice?” Shannon says to Gabrielle with his eyebrows raised.
“Well, yeah Shan, she didn’t really hang out much inside as much as she did out with Jared” Tomo says being a ball buster.
“Now that was fun” Gabrielle says smiling at Jared.
Jared just smiles back at her, knowing somehow she was lying, just a little.
He knows he did wrong by kissing her.
She doesn’t like to move things fast, and he knows its.
But still, couldn’t help it, she looked so pretty with the park lights all around them, around her face….
Just couldn’t help it. And why the hell not he’ll never know.
Now, most likely, she’ll not talk to him for a while cause, she has to figure out how she feels about it.
Great, just great.
Don’t know how you could make a simple kiss out of a, wow that was a little fast maybe this guy’s not right for me, thing.
But she sure does a fucking good job at it.
Meanwhile, as Jared rants off in his mind, The girls begin to leave the car.
“Come Jare, lets walk them to the door” Shannon says now getting out.
“Oh, yeah ok” Jared says now snapping out of lost thought.
The guys then walks the grils up to their door.
“So, call you later?” Shannon asks Emily.
“You bet!” Emily says smiling.
Then they kiss goodnight and then Emily says goodnight to Jared and then heads inside, while Shannon says goodnight to Gabrielle and walks back to the car, leaving Jared and Gabrielle alone
“So, talk to you tomorrow?” Jared says.
Yeah, sounds good” Gabrielle says.
Then the two says goodnight, and Gabrielle does a surprising thing to Jared by kissing him on the cheek.
Then she walks inside and shuts the door softly.
Then Jared walks back to the car, feeling a little better, but still not right.
“Aw shit” Jared says unknowingly out loud shaking his head.
“Ok, what stupid thing did you do now?” Shannon asks him as they pull out of the driveway and back to the hotel.
“You don’t want to know” Jared mutters.
“Try us” Tomo says smiling.
