So I stumbled out of my apartment this evening hoping to get inspired by some Pete/Travie creations and this event turned out to be STAR-STUDDED. No joke!
Ok, so the deets: Gallery 1988 and Clandestine Industries put on, “Without You I’m Just Me,” an art show featuring the work of
Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) and
Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes). It was open to the public from 6-9pm and then there was a reception for friends and family from 9-11pm. Pete and Travis were making the rounds all night, and John Mayer made a cameo, but guess who appeared at the VIP reception? The ever-radiant
Ashlee Simpson (sans BB Wentz), stylish sis
Jessica Simpson,
Nicole Richie and
Joel and
Benji Madden.
Decaydance up-and-comers
Hey Monday were there, as well as
Anberlin, and local bands
Halos and
Millionaires. There were probably other famous people there that I just didn’t recognize. The art was very cool–not groundbreaking, but thought-provoking and another avenue to wander down when contemplating the question, “Who IS Pete Wentz?” Travis was doing a little impromptu art, which was rad. There were shirts and programs for sale, Jen bought me a program as a b-day present.Oh and I thanked Pete for having a show yesterday, since it was a cool way to spend my birthday. He said, “It was good, I saw you in the crowd.” He was wearing eyeshadow. And it looked good on him.A few more pics will be uploaded tomorrow, but enjoy my paparazzi camera shots until then!
