Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s White Trash Birthday Bash
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has had kind of a crazy year. And I’m not just talking about the release of her album Bittersweet World.
In May, she married boyfriend Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, and then several weeks later announced she was expecting her first child with her new husband. The suddenness of the wedding combined with the baby announcement had people screaming “SHOTGUN WEDDING!” (and abusing their right to quote a Panic[!] at the Disco song) and making some fairly viscious generalizations about the singer.
These are generalizations that Simpson-Wentz appears to have taken lightly and possibly into the realm of pure parody. The pregnant singer celebrated her 24th birthday on Friday evening with a White Trash themed party.
Apparently the about-to-pop singer, who’s due date is looming every closer, wore daisy duke shorts, a bikini top, platformed flip flops and topped the ensemble off with a fake tattoo on her baby bumped belly. Her father Joe dolled himself up in a mullet wig and a muscle tee shirt, and sister Jessica Simpson got into the spirit with a tight, cleavage bearing leopard print dress.
A weird theme? Yeah. But as a guest confirmed, Ashlee’s no stranger to going all out with party themes. Last year her party had an 80’s Prom theme, topped off with Ashlee and Pete being crowed the prom king and queen for the night. And looking ridiculously adorable while doing so:
