A video of Rihanna performing Mariah Carey‘s “Hero” in her high school talent show has surfaced, and the blogger response so far is “ooooh, dang, she butchered it!”
O rly? Because the first time I watched this, I didn’t even recognize that this was Rihanna in High School. It was during my second viewing that I recognized “Robyn Fenty” was used (her full name = Robyn Rihanna Fenty).
Okay, she goes overkill on the wobbly-voice thing, but I think anyone who hasn’t been kicked in the privates is pretty darn ambitious to take on M. Carey and her glass-shattering octaves, anyway. Or maybe I’m just being protective because I secretly still listen to “Umbrella” every day?
