Ashlee Simpson breaks out new single: Little Miss Obsessive

[cut]
Ashlee Simpson‘s new single, “Little Miss Obsessive” is a duet with Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T‘s– and guys? It’s really freakin’ good. Stop drinking the h8erade and just give it a listen on this radio website.

Because of my pop-junkie tendencies, I eventually warmed up to her first single, “Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)” but in all its quirky-80’s wonder, I can’t say it really hit home. Little Miss Obsessive is catchy and relatable.

It starts out moody and mellow with Tom chant-whispering something I can’t totally make out (anyone get it?), and then Ashlee sings vaguely about a deteriorating relationship (oh, STOP, possesive Wentz lovers, you know it isn’t about THEM).

It’s the emotionally wrought power-chorus that really won me over though: “I guess we’re really over / so come over / I’m not over it / Late night you make me feel desperate / I’m not desperate / Oh, a little bit possessive / little miss obsessive / can’t get over it.

I’m so excited to already have an anthem for my next major break up! Which is an awful thing to jinx oneself with, but don’t act like you don’t have one in mind.
