Coldplay firm up album; Set to play festival with Panic

Fans have been waiting anxiously to see Coldplay finally perform again, and now the news comes that the wait is almost over.

The band has just announced that they will be part of the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan on August 9 in Tokyo and August 10 in Osaka. Also on the bill are Panic at the Disco, The Verve, Alicia Keys, New Found Glory, Against Me! and more. Rejoice!

Coldplay are set to "drop" their new album in June and a few song titles have been released such as Yes, Violet Hill, Chinese Sleep Chant and Reign of Love.

Is this festival worth a trip to Japan!? Discuss in the comments below!

Hard to imagine they have been around for ten years.

Be intresting to see if they bring a new sound this time around.

I love Coldplay. I have seen them in concert four or five times. I have never been disappointed. They put on one of the best live shows I have ever seen.

This album will be different, it will be interesting to see how it is received. They said the first three albums were a trilogy and that this one was breaking from that.

why must good bands lose my respect by touring with panic at the disco?

oh wow! i reallyyy wish i would have been able to see them live, but I haven't been able to.. I hope now I can.. And I think anything Coldplay does is going to be verryyy good, they have only come up with good things.. well, at least in my point of view..
I really want to hear new songs from them now!

I think that's the least of it all..
What should count is that they keep up their awesome live performances, good songs, etc...
Who they tour with is the least of problems...

Panic > Coldplay.
But the combination makes it worth a trip to Japan, yes... if only if only...
