Is Black Friday really worth it?
Black Friday has become a near holiday on its own. It's the day after Thanksgiving, and usually starts at 3 AM. People crowd the doors of Kohl's/Wal-Mart/K-Mart/Target/Mall/Any place with discounts--and oh, the deals on Black Friday are MAJOR. (My sister scored me a portable DVD player at Wal-Mart for $50 just three years ago), but it has more negatives than it does positives.
Shoppers lose all sense of sanity on Black Friday. People physically assault one another for a DVD. It's possibly even unsafe to shop. Last year, while outside a Wal-Mart waiting for the store to open, two people died. The lines are incredibly long, and the greatest deals are at the least convenient times. On a day where you don't have to work or go to school, you're getting up at 2:00 AM just to go shopping!! The deals on Black Friday are incredible, but do you think having to be in a crowded space with stupid, rude, violent people at 4:00 AM is worth it? Celebrate The Holidays With Your Favorite Celebs

Art or Science - What Matters Most?
Ive always been a massive Buzznet fan, but I got curious about my ability so I decided to check out another site (flickr) to see if my photographs got a response there - come on, we all want to know how great we are Y/N?
Anyhow Ive come to the conclusion that there are two types of viewers - 1.) people who want to take apart a photograph, scientifically, quote f.stops and lenses etc .....and 2.) people that look at an image and like it - for the colour, the composition and the downright amazingness (I know thats not a word). So - all you talented Buzznet Photographers - what do you think? Is it about the science or its it about the art? Win Tickets To A Special Evening With Forever The Sickest Kids

'New Moon': An Honest Movie Review
"When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home..." Actually, all I had on my mind was how much I missed my friend who I had seen Twilight (which we mark as the anniversary of said friendship) with and how much better the movie would have been with her there. But, besides the silly quote, I'd like to tell you the movie was a flop and that everything you saw on the many, many trailers for the film was pretty much what happened, but there was much more in between. I'd also like to tell you that I wasn't disappointed in some parts of it, but I was, of course, though I knew what would happen in the first place. Instead though, I'll tell you how much I honestly enjoyed the movie. Read more...
