Warped Tour '08: Warped Tour Girls Vs. Giant Security Men ... An Unfair Fight?A fight broke out between two young women and members of the security team at Warped Tour in Detroit, Michigan on July 18. The video is disturbing and details are fuzzy, but the question remains ... who was in the wrong based on the footage?
The video was shot by Jonathan Cook of Forever the Sickest Kids who explained the incident in further detail this morning via his MySpace blog, stating: "The security guard that hit the girl and pulled the other one out told me these girls were in the front row waiting for a band to come on stage and one girl of these three elbowed a chick in the face [whom] she felt was too close to her, so security asked her to leave. When she wouldn't leave, 3 female security guards had to escort her out but she was being violent with them that's when the males stepped in. The male security guard then grabbed her by her hair and drug her out across concrete then threw her out literally. I didn't see the first part of this story and I am only relaying what the security guard told me. I started filming bc of the hair pulling it was so brutal to watch. The video does not do justice to how hard this girl was hit. That does not mean I am on her side I'll let you decided who was right here not me. I hope this clears things up and last I heard the girl got off scotch free and the security guard was since arrested and taken in." The reaction by the security guard is a bit much, but from the video, it just looks like self defense. She clearly goes after him. But, of course, we haven't seen what happens before hand.
i agree with panasonicyouth, they are both wrong. but i kind of feel sorry for the girl though.
ahaha i love how jonathan kept on saying ' i got footage of this'
Second, the security guard should not have hit her like that. That was a low blow, buddy. Hitting girls in the face is never right. Hitting in general is never right. But, it looks like he was trying to defend himself but he shouldn't have hit her.
Third, I think the girls who were fighting security should have some sort of punishment since they did go after that security guy. They could have just walked away and called the cops and told the cops about the hair pulling incident before the fight.
Another thing, what is with the rest of the security people? It's like they just sat back and let things happen. They should have just shut the gate behind them and let the girls throw a hissy fit while they were on the other side of the fence. None of this would have happened if security just shut the gate behind them after kicking the girls out.
In the end, no one is right for their actions but things could have been handled in a better way by both parties.
He hit her in the face.
NO girl deserves that. especially from a large male security guard. Self Defense would have been to do like bouncers at a club and wrap your arms around her to keep her from swinging, not swinging BACK.
However, the girl clearly comes at him swinging. Why isn't it ok to hit a girl? Why is it ok for a girl to hit a guy?
