Dave Warsop Of Beat Union Prefers An In-N-Out Burger Behind Closed Doors

Dave Warsop is not a sex pest (whatever that means). The Beat Union singer does, however, have an appreciation for Patrick Swayze, cut-off jeans and female footwear.

Buzznet
: Do you have a morning bathroom routine? If so what does it entail from when you get out of bed until you are dressed for the day?

Dave: A wash and a wank... in ten minutes flat.

Buzznet: Who was your first kiss? Details ... How old were you? Where were you?

Dave
: My first girlfriend was called Emma ... although girlfriend wouldn't be the correct term really since it was such a childish relationship, I guess. We would hang out and hold hands at school for a few weeks, then she dumped me for someone else. She was my first kiss and my first taste of rejection ... it really upset me. I was twelve.

Buzznet: What do you have hanging on your walls in your bedroom? Posters? Artwork?

Dave: I'm rarely at home these days, so decorating my walls isnt a priority at all and everything that is on my walls is pretty old really. From memory, I have a framed ALL posters, a Sex Pistols poster, a Q and Not U poster, a Sonic Youth poster, a Lemonheads poster, a Henry Rollins poster, a Ben Kweller poster ... all kind of old and random stuff that's gathered over the years. I had a Patrick Swayze poster that a friend bought me as a joke cause he knew I loved the film "Ghost." I gave that away to another Swayze appreciater just before I left for Warped Tour though, cause I knew it was going to waste in my empty room! I know she will take good care of Pat for me while I'm gone!

Buzznet: Do you have any fetishes? Any pet-peeves?

Dave: Im not a sex pest. A girl in sexy lingerie is always good, but that will get most mens' hearts racing, I think.

Buzznet: What is the first quality you look for in the opposite sex?

Dave: I think I notice all that stuff, it depends what particular features stand out on the girl. Eyes, smile and hair is definitely important to me. I will often check out a girl's footwear too ... I guess that goes under style.

Buzznet: What do you wear to sleep at night?

Dave
: Socks and a vest ... nothing else.

Buzznet: Do you have a nickname?

Dave: We all have loads of different names for each other in the band. I won't explain any meanings to them but a few recent ones are BONEHEAD, FATTY WARSOP, HEADER and GOLDEN DI--. And Ade [Preston] called me David Banner today cause I got thrown out of a shop for wearing cut-off jeans and no shirt. He said I looked like the Incredible Hulk.

Buzznet: What was your first job? What was your worst job?

Dave: My first ever job was working in a pub kitchen when I was fifteen. It sucked and I sucked at the job too. The boss was a bit-- and I didn't last long. It allowed me to buy alcohol though for piss ups with my mates. My worst ever job was working in a brush factory. It was a dark, grimey, soul-destroying place to work ... Mainly working production lines on machinery. It was very depressing. I used to go to the toilet whenever I was given the chance, even if I didn't need it. I would just go so I could sit in a cubicle for a couple of minutes to get away.

Buzznet: What song do you know every word to, but are totally embarrassed that you know so well?

Dave: I'm not embarrassed to know any song. You should never be ashamed of liking music, whatever it is. Fu-- the music snobs.

Buzznet: What text message or voicemail do you regret sending to someone so much that you will never forget doing it?

Dave: I dont think I can think of one. We all do things we maybe wish we didn't, but at the end of the day, you learn from mistakes, and everything you've ever done is what makes you who you are right now. So I try not to waste time regretting..

Buzznet: Which era do you most wish you lived in and why?

Dave: It wouldve been amazing to be around in Detroit when soul and motown were big in the '60s. England in the late '70s wouldve been interesting so I could witness punk getting big. Maybe seeing the whole Beatle-mania thing would've been pretty incredible too.

Buzznet: Do you have any scars? If so what happened? If not name one imperfection on your body?

Dave: I've been pretty lucky, really ... the only scar I can think of is a small one on my wrist. I got cut pretty deep off some dodgy metal back when I was at school. There's a few things I would change about my body. I definitely don't like my legs. I think you have to make the best of what you're given though. You are who you are and you better get used to that.

Buzznet: If we gave you sourdough bread and you could put anything on your sandwich what would it be?

Dave: An In-N-Out burger.

Buzznet: When you hear the word “oatmeal” what is the very first thing that comes to your mind?

Dave: Breakfast. You don't really get oatmeal in the U.K., but I eat it most days for breakfast on Warped Tour. It's good stuff ... especially with raisins!
