when shooting music videos they do a faster version sometimes and then when the video is finished the slow it down so it looks normal

yeah she's right
mayday parade showed them doing this once and they said they had to shoot it fast first. i don't know why they do that though, but they do :P

They play the song fast because they probably want everything to move slow later on. Like slow motion. I saw Simple Plan doing this once, to their video for Untitled, and it's in slow motion. So when everything's settled, the song is perfect like it was but the people move slower than usual. That's it. There you have it.
