EDC Week: DIY Tutu Tutorial!

EDC is once again coming around and I wanted to make a ridiculously easy, ridiculously cheap tutu tutorial for you guys

This one is inspired by my kandi kid brothers and sisters but taking it one notch up and using holographic wrapping paper instead of the regular tulle. I have had these $5 wrapping papers for a while and I was stoked to finally put them to use.

Here’s what you need to make this tutu:

  • wrapping paper cut in strips (it can really be any material that you can cut into strips. Fabric, paper, plastic – everything goes)
  • elastic (tip: if you don’t have any handy, look for old pants, skirts and underwear to cut the plastic part from)

Step 1: Measure your waist, cut the elastic and sew it together.

Step2: Cut the wrapping paper into strips. Remember, you are gonna create a knot around the elastic so your strips should be twice as long as what you want your tutu length to be.

Step3: knot the strips around the elastic until the elastic is hidden

And you’re done!:)

…………… Or you can go nuts like I did and knot your skirt into some crazy metallic reptilian thing. I actually got so inspired I need like 3 more packs of these wrapping papers to finish the insanity that is cooking up in my head. Can’t wait to show you the finished dress.

Also, if you make some for yourself inspired by this tutorial, it would be an honor for me to feature it during MoonChild Monday so make sure to email us some pictures at:(moonchildacademy@gmail.com)

Lots of inspiration and creativity,

k
