September 27, 2007Cartel
Ok, so I went to the Cartel concert last night, and before we left, i reached for the camera to take it, and my mom said no. She didn't want it to get broken! I was so mad because once we got there (it was standing room only), we were in the front row right in front of joseph, and i had a perfect view of will!! i wanted to get pictures, so i tried with my phone, but they turned out crappy, and i can't make a video or anything....so I'm mad, but the concert was so amazing, and as we were waiting to go in Cartel walked right past us. It was so AMAZING!! I wish we could've gotten pictures though, but it was amazing.

September 5, 2007Let This Go 16Let This Go 16 William helped me to the bus. He opened the door, and I walked in looking like a mess. Andy, Joe, and Patrick were all sitting in the main lounge, and once they saw me they all jumped up. William gestured for them to stay back as we continued to walk back to my room.
William turned back my covers and helped me lie down, “Becca, you don’t have to tell me what happened, but please tell me that you’re going to be okay.”
I nodded, “Thanks for everything William…I promise I’m not insane.”
He laughed, “Even if you were I would still care,” he looked down almost embarrassed. “Ok so I’m going to go make you some tea. Just sit here and relax, okay?”
I nodded as I watched William leave the room.
“What the hell did you do to her? I trusted you man,” Patrick yelled.
“Way to go William, we all actually encourage Becca to hang out with you and this is what happens,” Joe added.
William must have looked shocked because Andy said, “Give him a chance to explain, guys.”
I heard William sigh, “I am not sure what happened. I was walking out of the venue and she suddenly came out of the catwalk door, and she was a mess. I have no idea what happened, and I don’t want to press her about it, she’s already upset enough.” I heard cupboards opening and closing, “Do you have a tea kettle?”
There was then a silence in the room, just the sound of the tea being made.
“Bill, sorry to jump to conclusions like that, it really wasn’t right.” Patrick said quietly. I loved hearing Patrick deal with his friends, he was so kind.
“Don’t worry about it Patrick, it makes me feel good to know how much you all care about her.” William said. You could hear the smile in his voice.
The door opened and William appeared with a cup in his hand, “For you my dear.”
“Thank you.” I took the cup from his hands and he laid down next to me.
“Why are you doing all of this William?” I asked. I was instantly upset at the way that I automatically distrusted him.
He just smiled at me, “You make me want to care, Rebecca.”
I didn’t really know what to say, he seemed sincere.
“Look, I’m not usually this forward, and I have no idea why I am being so open with you. I’ve been hurt really badly before, but you….you’re different, Becca, I can tell.”
I thought about everything that had happened so far on tour, “I think you’re wrong William. I’m not different, I’m incredibly average, probably crazy girl.”
William just laughed, and turned over to face me, “Well I’m willing to take my chances.” With that he kissed me, it was so sweet and it obviously showed that he cared. “I’m sorry Becca, I just don’t want to take things to quickly.” He said while pulling away.
I must have looked relieved because he just laughed, “I’m glad we’re in agreement.” He said.
I looked at the clock, “Not that I don’t appreciate everything Mr. Beckett, but don’t you have a show to do?”
“Oh shit,” he said while jumping up. He looked at me, “This is going to sound completely terrible,” he began, “But don’t even think about coming to the show tonight, you need your rest.”
I laughed, “Alright, well in that case, have a great show, William.”
“I just hope it gets over quickly,” he sighed.
“Why is that?”
“The sooner I will get to see you,” he said while kissing my forehead. “Now get some sleep, I don’t want to see you get sick or anything.”
I laughed, “Go amaze the crowd, Beckett.”
He threw his head back and laughed as he opened the door, “I will do what I can, for you my dear Becca.”
I just shook my head as he left the room. He didn’t close the door behind him and I saw Pete. He must have just gotten back.
“Man, between you and Becca, I’m really starting to get worried,” Patrick said, “Are you okay, man?”
Pete looked at Patrick confused, “What’s the matter with Becca? Is she okay?”
That irritated me, like he didn’t already know. I got up and as I went to close the door, Pete looked directly at me. His eyes shown of dismay and apology. I tried to show nothing back and just closed the door tightly, blocking any view that he might have of the mess that I was in. I took William’s advice and fell asleep. Fortunately I didn’t dream of anything, I was afraid of closing my eyes and seeing nothing but Pete. I couldn’t help but be angry with myself for still even thinking about Pete considering how perfect William was.
I slowly opened my eyes and I could feel the bus moving. Whenever I went to sleep before the bus started moving, and awoke when it was moving I felt panicked. I couldn’t help it. As I gazed around the room, I saw a figure sitting in the chair in the corner. I tried to control my breathing but I couldn’t. Instead I slowly reached for the tea cup on my nightstand and then launched it at the person in the chair.
I heard a grunt and then the light flipped on. I was shocked to see William grabbing his eye.
“I guess I deserved that?” William said laughing.
I hopped up, “I’m sorry, William, I didn’t know it was you, and I was so scared.”
He hugged me, “It’s okay, I don’t blame you.”
I looked up at him and his eye was already swelling shut. “Shit, I’ll go get you some ice.” I ran out into the kitchen area and looked in the freezer. I threw some ice into a towel and ran back into my room.
“Becs, are you okay?” Patrick hollered from behind me.
“Yep,” I said closing the door behind me once again.
I handed William the ice, and he put it to his eye.
“Um, so how was the show?” I asked nervously. I felt so terrible for hurting William, especially after he’d done so much.
“Becca, don’t worry about it, really it’s fine, I don’t blame you, I would have been scared to.” William gave me a reassuring smile, “But the show was good. Cartel was great as usual, but there wasn’t as much energy as there usually was. And during Fall Out Boy’s set, Pete was completely quiet. It was rather strange, but they played the best that I’ve seen so far on the tour.”
I sat quietly absorbing all of the information, why was Pete so quiet? I nodded, and William came over and grabbed my hand.
“Are you feeling better now dear?”
I looked at him, I really didn’t know why he cared so much, but I was glad that he did.
“I am now.”
***Thank you guys for everything!! You are all amazing!!

September 4, 2007Let This Go 15Let This Go 15 I got ready and went into the main lounge of the bus. Andy, Joe, Pete, and Patrick were all just sitting around talking. I knew it was rare for them to just get a moment alone so I figured I’d just go back to my room.
“Becs!” Patrick hollered. “We see you!”
“Yeah, you can’t get away from us that easily,” Joe responded and Andy nodded.
Pete didn’t say anything, he just quietly drank his coffee and messed with his sidekick.
I smiled and sat down next to them.
“So I had an interesting talk with William this morning,” Patrick said with a smile on his face. This even caused Pete to look up.
“Already? You guys get up way too early for me.” I teased him, not really knowing what to say.
Patrick just grinned, “Yeah, it was actually really nice. He asked if it would be okay with me if he took you out on a ‘real date’.”
Pete choked on his coffee right after the words came out of Patrick’s mouth.
“Pete, it’s really not a good time for jokes, William seems to really like Becca, and honestly he’s be about our only friend that I’d be okay with her dating.” Patrick said.
Pete looked hurt, and Patrick saying that made me wince a little too.
“Awww, well ‘Trick you know you don’t have to worry about that with me.” Pete said.
It was at that moment that I realized that Pete was impossible to figure out. I really didn’t know what to do, I suddenly felt really uncomfortable. I just decided to go back to my room. I closed the door behind me. I didn’t feel sad necessarily, but more confused than anything. There was a knock at the door.
“Yeah,” I responded.
Patrick came into my room, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” I just replied simply to him, not really knowing if that was the truth or not.
He looked at me questioningly, “You know never to take what Pete’s says too personal.”
I scoffed, “Of course, nothing is bothering me.”
“Well, it looked like you’d just been punched in the stomach after Pete said that.”
I blushed, “No, I was just embarrassed over the whole William thing…I can’t believe he asked you.”
Patrick smiled, “Isn’t that awesome? Seriously, William is a great guy, give him a chance.”
I nodded, “I don’t know Patrick maybe I should go home.”
He stopped and looked at me, “You want to leave?”
“Well maybe it would be for the best.”
“Is it Pete?” Patrick asked sounding angry.
I didn’t know how to answer that. It was Pete, but not for the same reasons that Patrick thought.
“No, it’s not Pete…I just I don’t know…”
Patrick smiled at me, “I’m not going to force you to date William, but I have a lot of faith in that guy, but I do know that this is the best place for you. It will give you time to clear your head.”
I laughed as the opposite was becoming true.
“I can tell Pete to leave you alone,” Patrick offered.
“Oh, Pete doesn’t bother me, I’ve spent the last ten years putting up with him, I think I can spend a couple of months.” I teased.
Patrick laughed and left the room. I really hoped that he wouldn’t tell Pete to leave me alone, but I didn’t know what I hoped for that. Later that day as I was walking to the venue I ran into Will.
“Hey,” I said excitedly.
Will seemed really nervous and he kind of looked around, “Hey.”
“Are you ready for the show?” I asked him.
Suddenly a beautiful girl came up behind him. She had stunning red hair, shocking green eyes, and a kind smile, “There you are Will, I’ve been looking everywhere.” She looked at me, “Hi, I’m Katie,” she extended her hand. She spoke in the sweetest Southern accent and suddenly things were tying together.
“I’m Rebecca, it’s nice to meet you Katie.”
She smiled and grabbed Will’s hand, a gesture at which he winced.
“How do you two know each other?” I asked Will, at that point I just wanted to make him uncomfortable.
“Ohh, tell her the story,” Katie said excitedly.
Will looked down, “No, Becca is a busy girl,” he looked over towards Katie and then at me and then back at her, “Katie is my girlfriend.”
I nodded and stared at him, I was in disbelief at my own stupidity. I now even felt guilty, Katie was such a nice girl, and here I was trying to get with her boyfriend.
“We’ve been together for what now…four years?” She asked Will.
I’m sure my mouth dropped, but I managed to recover, “Well that’s great…” I didn’t really know what else to say, “Are you going to be joining us for the rest of the tour?”
“I think so, well I hope so anyway.” She said while gripping Will’s hand even tighter.
“It will be nice to have another girl around,” I said, “But I need to get going, so I’ll see you around.” I walked away, still angry at myself.
Will had a girlfriend. It was partially a comforting statement as I had hoped that it explained as to why Will had cut things off with me so hurriedly. It was also a horrifying statement as it made me feel guilty.
I walked into the venue and the first thing I saw was Pete. He was surrounded by a group of girls. I wasn’t going to let my jealousy get the best of me, so I hurried and turned the other way hoping that Pete didn’t see me. I was wrong.
“Rebecca, wait!” Pete yelled from behind me.
I looked around desperate for an exit. I didn’t want to be around him, not now. I was surrounded by plain walls, but fortunately I spied a door that wasn’t too far away. I opened it and walked up the stairs as quickly as I could. There were a lot, and I could hear not only the echo of my steps, but the echo of Pete’s steps as well. I got to the top and I was able to look out onto the entire venue. The Academy Is…was just getting ready to do their sound check.
“Okay, Becca, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind.” Pete said breathlessly.
“Pete, do you think about anything else?”
He seemed confused, “No, that’s not what I meant. I wanted to talk to you.”
“About what?” I asked coldly.
“Well everything, I think you might have the wrong idea,” Pete stated nervously.
“You’re right I did at first, but then everything has slowly started to make sense. I can’t believe I was so stupid…” I trailed off, growing more upset about everything. “Look, I realize that you only want something physical with me, we definitely have a lot of chemistry, but I’m not sure that’s a good idea anymore. I guess I just need to grow up a little bit first.” For some inexplicable reason my eyes began to fill with tears a little bit, but I couldn’t let Pete see.
Pete was speechless, “No, Becca…you don’t understand.”
“Pete, don’t fucking play games with me, okay? You said it yourself this morning, you have no intentions of dating me.” I got up to walk passed him, “Excuse me.”
He didn’t move. He seemed really upset.
“Please, let me go.” I said, there was no way that I could hide my tears anymore.
He got up and walked in front of me. As we got to the door he stopped in front of me, and I panicked. I wiped my tears away as he turned around. He placed his hands on my waist and thrusted me towards the wall. He crashed his lips on mine and there was no way that he wouldn’t have been able to taste my tears. I was crying so much that I couldn’t even kiss him back. I tried to push him away from me, but he tightened his grip. We just stood there for a while, him looking away from me holding my body that was shaking with sobs. Finally I was able to break away from Pete, and I ran out of the door and down the stairs as fast as I could. At the bottom of the stairs I was breathless not only from running down the stairs but from crying. As I opened the door I crashed into someone.
“Rebecca, my goodness, what’s the matter dear?” I looked up to see a very concerned William.
This was a sign, everything was coming together.
I didn’t even know how to respond to his question I just looked at him and continued to cry. He opened his arms and embraced me into one of the tightest hugs I’ve ever gotten. I was comforted, this was how it was supposed to be. ***Thanks everyone so much!!! You are all incredible, and so kind!!
