Weezer announce groundbreaking new album title: 'Weezer'
Weezer will release their sixth studio album on June 17. And you'll never guess the name of it.
Taking a break from creative titles like 2005's Make Believe and 2002's Maladroit, this one will share the same name as the band's first and third album — Weezer. This has to be another April Fools' joke? Nope. "It's going to be self-titled," the band's publicist confirmed to Buzznet on Tuesday.
The sixth album will also be known as the "red album," according to Rolling Stone.
Weezer's first release features all four band members in front of a blue backdrop, while green was the color of choice for their third record. There is no word on if all four members will grace the cover once again.
Weezer is due on June 17 with the probable first single to be a track called "Pork and Beans," according to RollingStone.com. "We put a lot of emphasis on blowing our minds with creative freakouts," Rivers Cuomo exclaimed when describing the new album, RollingStone.com reports.
