Veterans Day 2007...........

Veterans Day 2007...........

Veterans Day is celebrated every year on November 11th, in honor of the military service men and women who served their country in times of war and peace. This is a photo of my Dad and his best friend Mike in 1941. My dad is the one on the right and the inscription on the back of this photo says " Mike and Jimmy on the roof of the Red Cross Club at Tel-a-viv, Palestine, the Mediterranean Sea is in the background " This was before Israel became established in 1947~

My Dad was stationed in Africa, Asia and the middle east during WWII and him and Mike were friends for over 60 years, both have passed on~

Nice. i really like this pic.
a few moths ago i found some great WWII photos, (from a web page, they're not mine) i thought about making a special gallery for them because they're like 20 or more, i don't know much about that war, but i think those pics are awesome.

a great tribute to them. Today i visited the Houston National Cemetery for the first time and was quite impressed. Pics will follow sometime this week.

My dad was a flyer and was shot down over Germany. He spent months as a POW before being liberated. I often think, especially today, about the sacrifices he and other made and are making for us.

Wow, what a great illustration of the Buddy System.

Anybody who talked to your veteran elders from WWII knows what that means. : )

One of my profile pics is a cousin of my in-laws, from around '67, also in Tel Aviv.

I love old photos, thanks for sharing.
