Sorry for the horrid quality but yeah heres your first step. I have his shoulders mapped out along with the cup hes resting his chin on. Theres also a vague outline of his head, ears and the my guidelines of where his eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth are going to be.
Not much different then the other one. Just darkened the lines and added the outline of his hair.
Now he has lips,a bottom of the nose, guidelines for the top of his nose and I filled in his eyebrows. All done with 2B. Now all thats left is the shading. I'll go into detal as much as I can.
I used a sketch pencil and paper stump for his jacket. For his lips i smudged the orginal lines with my paper stump. Then using a 4B I lightly added a line in the middle of the lip and used my paper stump to add the shading. I also used my 4B to add the indent below the nose and above his mouth. The cup was done with a 6B and the bottom of his nose was done with 2B,4B,6B.
This picture doesnt really do much justice but we'll deal. Eyebrow is just a couple of flecks of a 2B pencil. The eye now this is hard to explain and the picture doesnt really do it justice but ill do my best. I shaded the pupil first using a 6B pencil since its really dark and I left one part white since it reflects light. I shaded the whole iris of the eye with a 2B and then blended it using a paper stump. Then using a 5B I added some darker shading around the pupil. Then with a very sharp 4B I shaded around the iris. Below the eye is 4B shading and 6B above the eye.
His hair is HB and 6B. The latter is for the darker parts. It's also an eraser. Im sorry its not perfect hair is my new weakness. | Posted by Open Happiness on 04/04/2008 7:46 PM | Visits: 14 |
