Holiday toys that never worked
With the holiday season right around the corner...I decided to look around my son's room and look at his toys...then think of the ones that drove me MAD from my youth.

Snoopy sno cone machine
Great idea. I hated the sound of the ice "shaving"...and the ice was never as "fine" as the commericals would have you to believe...it was rather lumpy and the little snoopy flavor squirty thing never worked right...always leaked.

I asked for a record player...this is WHAT i got. Do I need to explain the annoying part?

Betty Crocker easy bake oven: I love to bake and iI am thankful this little demon of a toy didn't destroy it for me. Nothing, I mean nothing, ever came out right for me when I used this. After a while I gave up and started melting my crayons in it. I think I am just cursed. Several years ago my nephew asked for some "creepy bake oven"...um yeah a version for boys. so I decided to help him with his first batch of something...and it was crap. and I think it WAS my fault.

Mouse trap: Wow! on the commercials this game looked awesome! as things usually do to a 9 year old. First of all it took nine million years to set it up and if you were an only child (or your sibling was too old to be "bothered" by you) you were stuck playing with your parents...and they were already pissed off by having to set it up and then placing blame on each other for getting it for you in the first place. once again my nephew got this for his...um maybe birthday. He wanted to play the game as soon as it was opened. I ran screaming from the house.

Bedbugs: You know this game! the one where the whole damn bed shakes and you have to pick up the bugs with tweezers??? I think people of our generation can blame this game and "perfection" for our anxiety...or is it just me that is anxious all the time?

I loved this toy...but the play-doh never really came out of all the parts and when you put in new play-doh you always had crusties in the new doh...really annoying. But I does make for good "clay" when you add h2o and use the fisher price record player above in a make shift pottery wheel...
Super elastic plastic bubble: Sadly there is not a picture of this to be found on the internet. Some of you might remember this one. A small tube of "goo" when squezed out you roll it into a ball and place on the end of a very small straw to blow air into said goo ball...and just like that you have a plastic bubble...the fumes you inhaled from this stuff was toxic...who knows what this crap did to me!

This is the closest toy that i could find similar to it.
Lite-brite
Maybe I had a hard time with the whole following directions part...but I never could follow the patterns...that and I would end up taking the cover off and blinding myself.
So this is my list of toys that drove me insane as a child...maybe next I can come up with a list of new toys that drive me mad now!!! My son has lots to choose from.

and speaking of mice, the MICE would turn up their noses at what was produced by the e-z bake oven!
i loved the sno cone maker and play do
and i always had a ball with the fisher price record player and mouse trap at friend's houses :D
And the one time I was going to play Mouse Trap...my friend and I got so bored from setting it up that we just walked away from it. That was when I was 4. To this day, I've never actually played it.
My easy bake blew up on me.
that game scared the crap out of me
the patient always died and i hated the sound it made
btw..i still love easy bake oven...there are cookbooks on how to make actual meals for it with like chicken and stuff
i want it
I definitely loved Lite Brite
Same with Play-Doh! It was amazing! And when you left it out for about a month you get these cool little crystals that means you shouldn't touch it or you'll get deasises. =]

i absolutely hate Operation.
Monopoly is okay now, (i actually understand the rules^^) but i got pokemon monopoly. Does anybody over 12 actually like pokemon??
anyways, i always finished by playing games involving the cards/pokemons/houses/hotels other than the actual game. In fact i was always playing these "make-believe" kind of stories that i made up.
