Chapter 11

“You really do look beautiful, Em.” Chris said again for like the 5th time tonight.

“Chris, stop it.” I semi-whined.

“But it’s true.” He replied as he opened the door for me to get in.

We drove home talking non-stop about this and that. Chris and I had so much in common. In fact, I didn’t have Zack on my mind once the entire night until we got back to the apartment and I saw his car. Chris opened my door and grabbed my hand to help me out of the car. “Thanks.”

We walked to the door but I didn’t invite him inside. He didn’t push the situation.

“I had a really great time tonight, Em.”

“Yeah, I did too.” I replied honestly.

“Maybe we can do this again?”

“I would like that.”

“Okay, well I’ll give you a call. Have a good night.” He said with a kiss on my cheek.

“You too.”

I watched as he headed back down to his car before I went inside.

“Ooooo… tell me. Tell me. Tell me.” Laurie yelled as she came running at me.

“Wow. Calm down.”

“Sorry. I just want to know everything. Come sit down.” Laurie dragged me over to the couch and sat me down.

“Well, he took me to this really cute Italian place in the middle of town. Then, he took me to the top of this building and let me look out over the city. It was beautiful.”

“Awww, that’s so cute.”

“Yeah. It was perfect.”

“So do you think you will see him again?” Laurie asked.

“I think so. I really had fun and I don’t know how I feel about Chris but so far I have a good feeling about him.”

We talked some more for a while before I decided to head upstairs to bed.

Zack’s P.O.V.

“It was perfect.” I heard Emily say while I was in the kitchen.

“So do you think you will see him again?” Laurie asked.

No. No. No. She won’t see him again. No way. “I think so.” What? “I really had fun and I don’t know how I feel about Chris but so far I have a good feeling about him.”

No. I couldn’t believe it. She actually had a good time with Chris. This was not possible. I walked back into the living room expecting to see Emily and Laurie but Emily was gone.

“Oh hey Zack.”

“Hey Laurie. I’m actually leaving. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Okay see ya.”

I went home and went to bed but couldn’t sleep. My mind was stuck on Emily and her “perfect date”.

Emily’s P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning and went to work. I spent the entire day in the studio with Jack.

“So how was last night with Chris?” Jack asked as we sat there silently.

“Good. Really good actually. I had a lot of fun.”

“So do you think you’re gonna see him again?”

“Yeah, probably.”

“Oh….” He paused.

“What is it Jack?”

“Well, I’m just curious about Zack.”

“What about him?” I asked.

“He just looked really upset when he heard about your date.”

“Well, he went out with that Camie girl.”

“So? That doesn’t mean he doesn’t still care about you.” I didn’t say anything.

“I mean you still care about him. I know it.”

“Can we just not talk about this please?” I stated more than asked.

“Yeah sure. Just know that if you need to talk about it, I’m here for you.”

The rest of the week went by quickly. Every day I came home from work, Camie was sitting on the couch with Zack. I guessed that they were getting pretty serious. I, on the other hand, hadn’t heard from Chris since our date.

It was Friday and I was leaving the office. I walked down to the front desk where a dozen roses were sitting there. I looked around and no one was nearby. I took a peek at the card and noticed they said Emily. I opened the card and inside was a note that said,

I’m so sorry that I haven’t called Emily. Things have been really busy with recording this week. I really did have a good time the other night. I hope you did too. I’d like to get together again tomorrow. I’ll pick you up at 6. Wear something comfortable but still cute. If you’re interested just send me a YES text, if not then I understand. Chris

I smiled thinking about the other night. I pulled out my phone and sent a YES to Chris. I instantly got a reply.

Great!! I’ll see you then beautiful.

It was just a text but I felt the heat rush to my face from me blushing.

I got home to the usual Camie, Zack, Jack, Rian, Alex, and Laurie.

“How long are you guys staying here anyways?” I asked wondering when they were gonna go back to Maryland.

“Well we are working on a few different things, so we’ll be here for at least 2 more weeks.” Alex explained.

“Oh ok.”

“Why are you trying to get rid of us?” Jack questioned as he gently poked my sides.

“No! Jack! Stop it! Oh my God! Please!” I screamed.

“That’s what I like to hear.” He whispered in my ear.

I playfully swatted at him and laughed. “You pervert!”

“So anyways, I was thinking we could all just go drive out of town tomorrow night. You know get away from the city for the day.” Alex suggested.

“Yeah that sounds great.” Laurie added.

“Sorry guys I can’t go.” I said.

“Why?” Zack asked.

I was somewhat startled by this but answered honestly anyways. “I have a date with Chris tomorrow night.”

“Oh.” He simply stated.

He and Camie left shortly after.

“Thank god.” I said aloud.

“What?” Rian asked confused.

“I know it’s weird but he still loves you, Emmy.” Jack said sweetly.

“Whatever.” I said just shrugging Jack’s comment off.

We all had dinner and watched movies and drank who knows how much. Finally, I passed out on the couch. I woke up around 3 AM with a pair of arms around my waist. I carefully looked around and saw I was now in my room. I gently moved to see who I was with and saw that it was Jack.

Instantly, I panicked. I jumped out of the bed causing Jack to fall off the side.

“Fuck. Ouch.” He said.

“Sorry.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Jack, why are you in my bed?”

“You fell asleep on the couch completely plastered.”

“I know, but we didn’t…” I paused. “You know.”

“Oh no!” He practically shouted. “You passed out on the couch and Rian decided to stay over and he crashed in my bed so I brought you up to your room and just stayed here. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”

“Oh okay. No it’s fine. I was just worried that something else happened.”  

I laid back down and Jack did too.

“Jack?”

“Yes?”

“Am I wrong for going out with Chris with Zack around?”

“Do you like Chris?”

“Yeah, I do.”

“Then no.”

“Okay, thanks.”

He gently kissed the side of my head. “No problem.”

And with that I fell asleep excited for my date with Chris.

I'm terribly sorry that I havent updated..... I went to the GK Tour last weekend and then got sick and I'm still sick and my computer recrashed so its just been crazy..... but this one is longer than usual so I hope it makes up for it....
