Frank Turner Returns To US For "Revival Tour"

FRANK TURNER RETURNS TO US FOR "REVIVAL TOUR"

English folk-punk singer-songwriter Frank Turner will make his triumphant return to the US on Nov. 1 where he will join up with "The Revival Tour" alongside Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music), Jim Ward (Sparta), Tim Barry (Avail), Joey Cape (Lagwagon) and Dave Hause (The Loved Ones) among others.

Meet Frank Turner (video) here

After an unprecedented year touring with The Offspring and The Gaslight Anthem and generating enthusiastic press, Turner continues his non-stop trek across the US winning over audiences with his phenomenal live show. Fans that have seen his riveting performances don't walk away merely content on seeing a great performer, but feel the need to spread the word of Turner's passionate music and heartfelt lyrics.

Turner is touring the US in support of his recently released critically raved about third studio album, Poetry of the Deed. Called "his finest work" (Portland Mercury) and his "most consistent record yet" (NME), "Poetry of the Deed is a superb record that should shine a light on Turner not only as a brave new and, most importantly, thoroughly unmanufactured talent in the murky waters of the British singer-songwriter, but as a guy with a guitar slung over his back who can command venues from living rooms to huge concert halls" (BBC Radio 1).

Don't miss one of this generation's most endearing and gifted new singer-songwriters live this Nov.

A Quick And Simple Poem

idk if anyone will read this... but I decided to write a short poem about my life and I just thought it was so cute that I had to share it with my buzznet family! you guys are amazing and I love you! ^_^

cupcakes and lollypops and the sweetest of dreams! cooking and cleaning and listening to imeem!
eating mints, chewing gum, cuz garlic's a drag! cuddling up with my tiger in a yellow sleeping bag!
tweeting on twitter and whatching TV! shows about sharks who swim in the sea!
eating pizza in a booth and talking with my mother! Pizza Hut's pizza is like no other!
AFI and the offspring make a nice mix! there's nothing a little music can't fix
I think that I'm hungry but that can wait! you wouldn't BELIEVE how much pizza I ate!
watching the calendar as days fly by, sometimes it makes me wanna cry
to think that I'm almost fifteen! adjusting as my life changes scenes
I'm still loving pokemon, like mewtwo and mew! and here I am describing my life to you!
you know, I'd love to stay and chat, but I think there's somewhere I should be at...

PEACE AND LOVE B-NET!!!!!!!!! ~Kay Pink

Music+Sweat+Insomnia=Delicious.

Summer is officially here when the highlighter bikini is out and walking around in what seems to be underwear is now apropriate. And man does it feel good as fuck.

This is before BFD when we got a flat on the highway. Good times because on the highway for two hours singing our version George Michael. Oh so delicious two hours. Really. So much fun. Try to get a flat on the highway with your best friend. It's a great, great thing.

The YEAH YEAH YEAHS. Incredible performance. It was chocolate mousse in a sea of jello. So delicious. hahahaha

And then the OFFSPRING. Which was so incredible. Incredible musicans for sure.

Shit I am tired. That journal sucked balls. It's almost 6. fuck.

I miss the dark night. I should've slept earlier. fuck me.

BTW did not get any photos of TAKING BACK SUNDAY. I was too excited, too busy screaming, and suffocated by sweaty men. BEST EXPERIENCE EVVVERRRRRR. Incredible show. NUMBAH ONE IN MY BOOKS. Too short tho! Can't wait for Blink182+Weezer+Taking Back Sunday all on the same stage. Gonna be amazing. Much wuvviez. <3 chay chay.

Frank Turner to Support The Gaslight Anthem on Fall Tour

“There’s no doubt that Frank Turner is the most exciting and talented anti-folk troubadour in the country” – Big Cheese

June 8, 2009 – Los Angeles, CA – English folk-punk singer-songwriter Frank Turner will tour the US with The Gaslight Anthem this fall in support of his forthcoming album, Poetry of the Deed, due out in September. In anticipation of the new album, Epitaph Records/Xtra Mile will be reissuing Turner’s critically acclaimed album Love Ire & Song on July 21.

Described as possessing the “heavy-clever wit and wry, do-or-die romantic solidarity of socially superconscious singer-songwriter Billy Bragg by way of Joe Strummer” (Austin Chronicle), Turner has emerged as one of the UK’s most prolific singer-songwriters of the past decade. His sophomore album, Love Ire & Song, “fourteen tracks, 500 emotions, three chords, and the truth” (Austin Chronicle), has been called “as defiantly brilliant as ever” (NME) and “so personal and unique that it will never be able to be mimicked by anyone” (Westword).

And that is only the beginning. Poetry of the Deed promises to be his best work yet…

Turner’s fiery passion translates in his live show with spine tingling vigor and honesty. “His songs are deeply personal, his lyrics evocative and gut-wrenching. No veiled references. Everything means exactly what it sounds like it means. He sings with all his heart, body and soul” (MercuryNews.com). Turner will tour with The Offspring at the end of June and with The Gaslight Anthem beginning September. Don’t miss one of the most talented singer-songwriter’s around today.

Ahhh The Buzz Better Than Nothing Show!! (Houston, Tx)

Ahh great show!!
Okay so I just got back from the Better Than Nothing show...Freakin' awesome.

Meriwether played first. Fantastic way to start. I had never heard of them before tonight really...and they were awesome.

Hawthorne Heights came on after them. Honestly I didn't think they would come on second, but either way, they were amazing.

Earshot came on after them, and they were good...they did a cover of Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" that was probably the best part of their performance. The music was good, but something about them, I don't know.

Saving Abel was next. They were pretty good. I didn't think I would like them, but yeah. Pretty cool.

10 Years. They were awesome. They put up a good performance. Got the crowd going alot more than the other bands. That is....before.....

The Offspring!!!!
Wow...nothing I can say could possibly describe how perfect these guys perform.

They played all their best songs, plus some new ones. Then they ended with Self Esteem. So cool.

Overall, it was a great, solid show. All the bands were fantastic.

I'm tired.

Goodnight.

Edgefest 18

Since I know some (alot) of you were DYING to know how I spent my Saturday, I thought I would write a journal for you, please save your applause until the end :D

Yesterday me and Rachel (shatteredreams) went out to Frisco, Texas to enjoy the second Edgefest of the year, the reason for having a second Edgefest remains a mystery to both of us still!!!  Well instead of giving you an in depth run down of every band, like I have in th past, I'm going to keep this one short and sweet....going to try something new :D

So I'll go through them in order, first to last, here we go!

Drive A- Have heard of them before, have had an opportunity to see them, but always managed to miss them, I'm sad now.  They are a group of super tiny boys (men?) from California that play some pretty entertaining punk rock!  I loved them!!! :D

Saving Abel- I SERIOUSLY hated this band the first time I saw them in concert (which would be the first time I had heard of them period).  After seeing them this time around, I dislike them less, but I will never be a fan!  Like I've stated on a QOTD a while back, to me Saving Abel is like the product of an unholy union between Nickleback and Buckcherry, and I'm still standing by that!

Alkaline Trio-Were SUPER FANTASTIC!!!!  I loved everything about them down to Matt Skiba's bright green socks and shoes. They did a tribute to Jerry Finn towards the end of thier set!  It was sad, but sweet :D

Seether-For someone who isn't a huge Seether fan, I've seen them in concert more times than I can remember!  But FINALLY this time they did something a little different, they did two Nirvana covers!  And you know what?  They were some of the best Nirvana covers I'd ever heard, I was in SHOCK!!!  I never would've thought that Shaun Morgan's voice would've gone so damn well with a Nirvana song, but dammit!  It did!  They sang Rape Me and another song that I can not for the life of me remember right now!

Papa Roach-I hadn't seen these guys since "Last Resort" came out and they started making a name for themselves, so I was somewhat interested in seeing them again!  They definatly exceeded expectation.  Highlight of their set is when Jacoby Shaddix sang the chorus to Scars (I think it was Scars, would have to ask Rachel to make sure..might've been Forever) in Spanish!  Everyone thought that was pretty cool!!! :D

Rise Against- One of probably 3 bands that I was super stoked to see at this festival!  I hadn't had the opportunity to see them before, so I was SO HAPPY!!!  Cuz I love them!  I enjoyed everything from beginning to end, of course!  Fun Fact: Guitarist Zach Blair is the brothers with Doni Blair who was Lisa Umbargers replacement in the Toadies...I found that out today and it explained something that I seen yesterday :D

Toadies-This is the third time that I've seen these guys...this year!  LOL!!!  Fifth time overall!  You would think I would be tired of these guys, but I'm not!  I don't know how well their shows go in other states, but since they are from Texas, they burn the house down everytime they play in this area!  They played some old stuff (all the goodies, Possum Kingdom, Tyler, Burn, I Come From The Water, Backslider, etc) and they played some stuff off their new CD!

Staind-Nothing really remarkable to say about their set.  They sang some good songs, the crowd was DEF into it!  But it really was just a typical set!

The Offspring-Another one of the 3 bands that I was SSSOOO stoked to see!  Once again, I hadn't ever seen these guys befor, but spent way too much time with their CD Smash in high school, so this was DEF a dream come true!  They were awesome, I wanted to take tons of pics of them, but was to busy dancing around like a jack ass :D

Stone Temple Pilots-The second time I've seen them this year and EVER!  It was great!  I kinda knew what to expect since I just seen them in June, but was amazed none the less!  I was scared because they band was about 15 minutes late getting on stage and I was afraid that Scott was...pulling a Scott, but they showed up and as far as I could tell all the important parties were sober, at least they didn't screw up any words to songs that I could tell!!! :D  It was a great show!

Other than that, the show was interesting!  There was no shortage of fights, crowd surfing bananas, drunk people, smelly people, dudes taking advantage of close quarters!  Typical concert shizz LOL!!! :D

September 30, 2008

I laughed the loudest, who would of known.

I have just realized how fast your life goes. I can't believe it is October and tomorrow my brother is turning 21. I can just remember when we were little and we would do rain dancers. ahahah... I can't believ in a less then 2months i will be 16. Time just goes so fast. I think you should really make the most out of your life, coz one day it just ends, and you won't know when, how and where. It could be tomorrow, the next day, 2 years from now. You never know.

Alsooo... I miss the music from the 90's. he Offspring, Blink 182. ooo... they were so great. I've been listening to them on repeat for ages. I get in those types of modds everynow and again.

I also miss when Metro Station weren't popular. It frustrates me when SHAKE IT is played in my fave shops etc. Shannon nd i discovered them first in Australia before they were really famous!!!!
lol

This weather is annoying me!
